Hochkönig - one of the snowiest regions in Austria
Hochkönig is part of the extensive Amadé ski area with 760 km of slopes with 375 marked runs served by 270 ski lifts. Hochkönig comprises 3 ski areas with a total of 350 km of slopes with 83 marked runs, which are served by a total of 85 ski lifts at heights of 800 m to 1,900 m. With the appropriate ski pass, you can ski or snowboard in any of the Dienten am Hochkönig, Maria Alm and Mühlbach am Hochkönig ski areas.
Due to its geographical location, the region is one of the snowiest winter sports areas in the Austrian Alps. Hochkönig offers good skiing, especially for advanced skiers. Hochkönig offers good snowboarding and there are a large number of snow and terrain parks in Dienten am Hochkönig and Maria Alm. Traditional mountain villages offer good value food and drink and there is plenty of uncrowded ski space. The quiet idyll is rounded off by the multitude of sports and leisure opportunities and the excellent local cuisine.
Summer in Hochkönig
In summer the region offers countless mountain sports and leisure activities. Among other things, the region has six beautiful and challenging golf courses within a 40 km radius. In particular, we refer to the proximity to the provincial capital and festival city of Salzburg, which offers culture and history enthusiasts extraordinarily wide choices.
The closest airports to Hochkönig are Salzburg, Linz and Innsbruck. There are nine airports within a three hour drive. Salzburg is the closest, just an hour’s drive away.
