A guide to La Toussuire
La Toussuire is a small ski resort at 1750m altitude in the Sybelles area of the French Alps, located on a large plateau that offers panoramic views. The Toussuire ski area is part of the wider Sybelles 310 km ski domain in the Maurienne Valley. The pistes are well adapted for families and skiers of all abilities. Other villages in the ski area include Le Corbier, Les Bottières, St Jean d'Arves and St Sorlin d'Arves. The Toussuire village is a combination of purpose-built apartment complexes and some more traditional style chalet buildings. A ski holiday here is also recognised as excellent value compared with its illustrious neighbours in the 3 Vallées or Val-d'Isère. The closest airport is Chambery (1hr), or access from Geneva, Lyon or Grenoble airports is 2hrs.

Most accommodation in La Toussuire is ski-in/ski-out, or close to the pistes. Properties in the Reberty area are right on the slopes, as is La Sapinère. Les Bruyères below the village has its own lift base to access both sides of the valley. Many of the more recent and new developments are chalet-style offering good facilities and tax advantage options to recover the VAT on purchase, prices are gnenrally below €10,000 per square metre – this is good value for a well established and snow sure ski resort.

Après ski in La Toussuire
Due to being a mid-sized resort in France, much of it purpose-built, therefore you will find approximately 20 bars and restaurants in La Toussuire, most of them along the main street. However, it is not famous for its Après ski, although in the right company it can become a great time and the perfect location, after a long day on the slopes.

There is a wide choice of restaurants that can be found both on the slopes and along the streets in La Toussuire, with the majority having great reviews and offer a wide range of cuisine. Furthermore, most are family friendly and happy to welcome anyone for food or just a drink. The general reviews of staff are described as very friendly and welcoming.
