Why do we favour one ski resort over another? What makes us try a new place, and go back? It is a complicated question - is it the culture, the ambience, or are there other more tangible factors?
Does the skiing suit me? Are the pistes spacious or crowded, is it big enough, does it have lots of groomed runs, are the lifts efficient and comfortable, can I be sure of snow?
Alpine Property intelligence is proud to join with Montenius Consult to present a new way to answer these questions – which is factual, unbiased and unopinionated.
“A VALUABLE NEW TOOL FOR HOLIDAY DECISIONS AND PROPERTY INVESTORS”
• Skimiles® measures the size of every ski resort by 10 specific factors •
• Ski Area Comfort is determined by the efficiency of the lifts, the comfort of the lifts and how much ‘elbow room’ there is on the piste •
• Snow Reliability considers the altitude, snowfall data and snowmaking coverage •
• Ski Area Value combines all these factors for one easy to recognise overall result •
Party town Ischgl also packs some pretty serious skiing. The perfectly interlinked Swiss side opens up a further 70km of pisted runs so take your passport, it also offers duty free shopping. This Austrian resort has plenty of modern lifts, a good snow track record, 90% of the slopes are above 2,000 m with 80% covered by snowmaking. Ischgl offes a genuinely fine range of ski options for all abilities, and a highly rated snowpark. The entire ski resort is usually open until early May. When the skiing is done, this is a very lively place and the famous Kuhstall, Trofana Alm and many more venues welcome party lovers. The legendary Top of the Mountain Concert has hosted Rihanna, Robbie Williams, Elton John, Rod Stewart and a plethora of top stars.
What about ski chalet and apartment properties for sale in Ischgl? Ischgl itself has no real estate agents, and with little land left to develop there is a shortage of chalets to rent or buy. Most accommodation is family run hotels and apartments. Some well appointed 2 and 3 bedroom chalet and apartment developments can be found in the nearby villages of Galtür and Kappl, both of which have their own small ski areas and are an easy bus ride to Ischgl.
If Alpine property for sale in the Ischgl area is of interest, consider other Austrian Alp locations either nearby or further afield.
