A guide to Châtel
Châtel is a traditional Savoyard mountain village that links with the Swiss resorts in the Portes du Soleil ski region via the Super Châtel cable car – a quick ride up from the village and you are in the centre of the action. Popular for its charming village centre and a welcoming and friendly atmosphere, Châtel is extremely popular with families, especially those with beginners as they can progress from the 83km of local pistes on to the greater challenges available in the extensive Portes du Soleil ski area. In summer there are numerous activities making this an excellent dual-season choice.
Chalets and Apartments for sale in Châtel
Despite its 1200m altitude its north-facing outlook ensures a reliable snow record. Recent investment in the resort facilities and the lift system have dramatically improved connection times to the two ski areas. Châtel has seen a spurt in activity in new build projects, particularly apartments. As with other French resorts, an increasing number come with swimming pools and spa/health facilities and rental management, and are freehold so you are not obliged to make them available for rent. There is a limited amount of ski in, ski out property and chalets for sale.
