La Rosière Statistics - Introducing Skimiles®

Why do we favour one ski resort over another? What makes us try a new place, and go back? It is a complicated question - is it the culture, the ambience, or are there other more tangible factors?

Does the skiing suit me? Are the pistes spacious or crowded, is it big enough, does it have lots of groomed runs, are the lifts efficient and comfortable, can I be sure of snow?

Alpine Property intelligence is proud to join with Montenius Consult to present a new way to answer these questions – which is factual, unbiased and unopinionated.

“A VALUABLE NEW TOOL FOR HOLIDAY DECISIONS AND PROPERTY INVESTORS”

• Skimiles® measures the size of every ski resort by 10 specific factors •
• Ski Area Comfort is determined by the efficiency of the lifts, the comfort of the lifts and how much ‘elbow room’ there is on the piste •
• Snow Reliability
considers the altitude, snowfall data and snowmaking coverage •
• Ski Area Value combines all these factors for one easy to recognise overall result •

La Rosière Information & Property Market Summary

‘La Ros’ is perched high up above Bourg-St-Maurice, at the same altitude as Val d’Isère. South facing and sunny, the ski area of l’Espace San Bernardo caters for all abilities. Linked to La Thuile in Italy, day trips by ski over the border are an attractive feature. La Ros has an alpine feel, a pleasant ambience and gets heaps of snow. For lodgings it has plenty of chalets and apartments; Chalet Matsuzaka is a luxury option with good reviews. Après-ski is quiet, but there is a selection of restaurants in the village.

What about property in La Rosière? Good value given its credentials. There is usually a good selection of apartments for sale, some in new or refurbished developments, true proximity to the pistes and larger places can add a small premium. Chalets for sale are less frequent but worth seeking out. The enlarged ski area, opened in December 2018 adds to the already considerable appeal of La Ros as a holiday destination or a property investment. See our blog for more details.
